Tour de KC

Decided to take the velocipede (bicycle), instead of the car to downtown. I need to renew my drivers license, and I missed out on my morning workout at the gym, so I though of this little motivational drama to exercise "The Tour de KC" of course I did my own doping samples and didn't get any big sponsorships, got to work at that salesmanship part of my life. Let me stop distracting us from my little photo montage of the expedition- 9 miles in total - I guess I saved $2.50 on the gas, and got a nudge healthier out of this - bypassing the heat stroke potential. Enjoy!!

Recycle, Recycle, Recycle...

I went to the new recycling center out by the old Super Wal-mart that was near, or apart of the Bannister Mall Area, now called the something Indian Trail, I think? Anyways the area looked liked if the human species died and nature is reclaiming the 1980's planning catastrophe of that Kansas City metro area . Really, were Malls going to be the thing that change Americans into habitat dwellers of the 21st century.

Fighting City Hall

I'm planning on a motion to re-evaluate my houses apprisal value. I had a nearly $150 jump on the mortgage payment due to this apprisal. I look around the neighboorhood and I know I can't get the value for it if I decide to sell. I of course stuck like chuck with all this housing debacle, so I need to get some relief. The Kansas City article over this subject inspired me to take action. Another side note, my friends in the housing industry still believe that things will turn around by the end of next year -- I don't believe it, but I don't dare bust their bubbles of hope.

Old site excarated

I did this website in the late 1990's and it's still going to my surprise. I had to go and start up an old computer that still had some of my old favorties and I found this little pathtic little webpage that I created. Most of the links are broken or the bar/club don't exist any longer. Just alittle of memory lane for me in the digital frontier of the internet. KC Club Review

Mid-town Craziness - You Got to Luv-it!!

I use to live in Mid-town for several years. Loved the convenience of stumbling home after Westport and of being able to get on the highway in seconds. I had time to stop off at one of my old hangout and also get some nearby Chinese buffet. I'll say that I was there a total of 40 minutes and saw the KCPD racing up down B-Way 4 times. I just smilied and though of all the times those sirens swond me sleep late at night. I have to say it was visiting the probability of everything you can see and experience in any real world melodrama. Let me start from the begining - I was parking my car when I noticed a skinny man, which turned out to be a cracked out lady, carrying a huge chunk of asphalte. I though is this person going to bash some one in or what. I got of the car and started walking toward the corner. I see the same person running around the corner with a huge grin on their face coming my way - minus one chunk of asphalte. I still though it was a guy that ran pass me. I walk to the old waterhole and see this huge car window shattered and the mystery of the big chunk of asphalte was solved. I entered the establishment and mentioned if someone had the car, which has just been remodel Midtown style. There was such a rush out of the building as if I just said stick'm up. I guess the story that I got told was the individual was a women that was in the bar scamming for some change to get some more crank, or crack and some of the patrons were making fun of her. I guess she probably though that she got the last laugh, especially the way she was grinning when she passed me. I had my trusty camera, but didn't have it ready, I was only able to take some pics of the aftermath she caused. Mid-town you got to love it!!!

San Antonio

Took a Big Texas Road Trip!! Gas prices killer, even in Texas -go figure!! It was grand time to visit friends up and down the I-35 Parking lot, as my Texas friends explained to me. Moving along, spent the 4th at Ft. Hood, TX and learned that a windowed friend found a new love - Marriage is planned next year in PANAMA - have to brush up on my Van-Halen. Austin, TX was lovely and ultra chic, my friends there keep telling me I would relly like living there, and I agree, especially the Travis Lake. San Antonio was the last stop - did the River Walk, Alamo, and Missions. We partied around and enjoyed ourselves till we were feeding whatever lives in the River with our nights entrees. I usually don't drink like that, unless its around them, - I guess that is the reason we all try to live a good distance away from each other.

Education ?

I'm of the opnion that Kansas City politics, which influences everything is dsyfunctional. Politics at it's best is political and dsyfunctional, but the level of corruption, back biting, and incompetence makes this a particular interesting and sad laboratory of democracy we reside in.

1st Education a corner stone for a healthy and vibrant civilization is a corner stone of disgrace
The split between the KCSD and ISD over dividing up the spoils of incompentence.
Lack of preparedness to deal with the upcoming century.

2nd The constant money grabing that goes on for higher taxes and fees. I drove out to the new FedEx centers outside of the city limits. More room, lower taxes, they don't have to fence everything with off with armed guard and deal with the wondering homeless person or potential criminal dirt bag.

3rd Do the most educated and creative people stay in the city or flee to the surbees once they stop the 20-something life of fun and move out to the surbees to be real grown ups- but gas prices might put a damper on that mind frame.
